Panther Creek

Okay, everyone is healing and on the upward climb in our household. Despite the aftermath of camping, we did have a fun time. Aubrey did really well. She took naps at the right time and slept pretty well. The last night was a little tough but now we know why. Aubrey had the most fun throwing rocks in the river, which is what I think everyone had fun doing. We'd love to go camping again this year, of course we'd have to be in optimal physical condition before we left or it would not be a deal!

Sickness

Our house has been infected with well.. infections. It seems our immune systems didn't quite agree with sleeping outdoors. Aubrey was the first to have pink eye, ear infections, and a sinus infection. I followed with a fever and an impossibly sore throat. Unfortunatly, Brandon's immune system was no match for us and he is now skipping work with a fever and impossibly sore throat as well. The point of my rant is that we had a lot of fun camping but I've been too ill to post anything. I think by later today or tomorrow I will have the energy to sort through the 125 pictures that were taken at Panther Creek. Thanks to the Nikon. Anywho. Until then.. take your vitamins!

Sprinkler

What is it about playing in the sprinklers that all kids find fascinating? I'll never get over the fact that I just turned on a sprinkler and didn't do or say anything and instantly she knew this was going to be one of the best days ever. She ran through the sprinklers today like she'd been doing it her whole life. I didn't lead by example or coach her through it she just knew exactly what to do. It really is magical to watch the joys of childhood. I finally had to force her into the house when her lips turned blue. She slept for hours today, catching up on all the sleep her teething has been robbing from her. Naturally, when she woke up she was right back out there, this time with Dad right behind her. A truly beautiful day in Sellwood.

New Camera = Better Pictures!

We just got a new camera. We've talked about it forever, it seems like, and with our Hawaii trip coming up we just decided to go for it. This means no more grainy pictures! I'm excited, I hope you're excited too. I decided to upload some random pictures from our first day with the camera!

It's been so long!

Oh boy. I know it's been awhile since I've updated this! I'm blaming it on... life. It gets busy sometimes. Aubrey and I discovered The Washington Park and my my my is she in love. It has the hugest play structure you've ever seen, its surrounded by trees, and it's all AstroTurf.

Gynmastics Class

I finally got some good gymnastics video! Aubrey was a lot more self sufficient this time and will probably be even more so next week. So this week Aubrey is no longer skipping the number 8 when she counts, I'll try and get it on camera-- so cute. She also started singing the Happy Birthday song; I have no idea where she learned it. I think since we are always celebrating someones birthday she just picked it up. But I got to wake up to her singing that to me over the baby monitor this morning, it was really sweet. We're going to the 'yibee' (library) today to get some 'noon books' (new books), that should be fun. We might break out some sidewalk chalk too. You just never know where the day will lead, especially with this crazy Oregon weather. Oregon is so bipolar.

Aubrey Lisa's Smile

First and foremost I'd like to give a little shout out to Papa Bilyou. It's his 76th birthday today! The WHOLE family headed up to Vancouver this morning to surprise him. Of course, while arguing over how to break into his garage using the key pad, he surprised us! Typical Bilyou-Bailey-Short style. Well, it's the thought that counts right? After our morning adventures we headed home for nap and then OMSI! The museum has become quite the staple in our recent rainy weekends here in PDX. We decided to stop by for the last day of the DaVinci exhibit-- and so did the rest of Portland. Apparently, we aren't the only procrastinators in town. The never ending lines and jam packed exhibit proved to be disappointing and boring in the eyes of little A. However, we did get to sneak in this little pic at the end. We spent the rest of our day in the Science Playground before heading home where Aubrey proceeded to stuff her face with pizza and fresh tomatoes-- natures candy. Enjoy my seed-faced little muffin. Goodnight!
